Well, I am neutral this week. I am still happy, that is still 6 pounds in 2 weeks! I started back up running on Friday (after a 3 week break) and I know there isn't a really good explanation for this but EVERY time I start working out, I gain about 1 or 2 pounds and it takes me about a week and a half to get it back off. Anyway, my point is that before Friday, I was down a little bit from last week. But after my workout and the next day saw the scale - I knew exactly what had happened.
I know everyone says "muscle weighs more than fat". Okay, but do I really gain that much muscle in one workout? I don't know the answer, but it is really frustrating! Oh well, 6 pounds in 2 weeks - that is what I keep reminding myself.
No - you don't gain that much muscle but you do retain water when you do something different, work-out wise...basically, you're injuring your muscles, they swell and retain water to combat the lactic acid build-up...water = weight. Drink tons of water and it will flush out!
ReplyDeleteGreat job (on running again and being motivated to be more healthy)! So proud of you - keep it up!
